I know I already posted some version before hand but I just love how I go back and try to make them so much better even if it’s just some lyrics that I got inspired from. This song is very deep and dark also very personal to some I hope you guys enjoy! . . .

“Drowning” ~ Album art

drowning2

I have finally created my art cover for “Drowning” I wanted a personal feel very fast and original to create from my inspirational from the Laura Marling album art. Very folk but country and I wanted my narrate flow to shine throughout the art to tell the story and express what is my song about.

Acoustic ~ Guitar By Brendan Thompson
Written ~ By Brendan Thompson
Where ~ Bedroom

{VERSE 1}
HE DRINKS ALL DAY,
EVERY SINGLE DAY,
CHEAP WHINE,
VODKA AND GIN,
AND THE CHURCH BELL RINGS,
HE IS LYING DOWN IN THE DITCH,
ON CHRISTMAS EVE NIGHT,

{CHORUS 1}
I NEVER EVER,
SAW THIS POOR FELLA,
FALLING DOWN,
FALLING SO FAR DOWN,
AND I NEVER SEEN HIM DROWNING,
AND HE IS DROWNING HIS SORROWS DOWN,

{VERSE 2}
HE WOKE UP,
BLOOD ON HIS LIPS,
RED EYES,
AS THE PRINCE,
OF DARKNESS,
WAS PROCESSING HIS SOUL,

{CHORUS 2}
I NEVER EVER,
SAW THIS POOR FELLA,
FALLING DOWN,
FALLING SO FAR DOWN,
AND I NEVER SEEN HIM DROWNING,
AND HE IS DROWNING HIS SORROWS DOWN,

{BRIDGE}
AS THE SUN ROSE OVER THE MOORS,
A DUSKY MOURNING,
A PREACHER MAN FOUND HIM,
LEFT FOR DEAD,
FREEZING TO DEATH,
BUT AT LEAST HE WASN’T IN PAIN,
NUMB TO HIS FINALE DAZE,

{CHROUS 3}
I NEVER EVER,
SAW THIS POOR FELLA,
FALLING DOWN,
FALLING SO FAR DOWN,
AND I NEVER SEEN HIM DROWNING,
AND HE IS DROWNING HIS SORROWS DOWN,
HE IS FALLING DOWN,
FALLING,
DROWNING HIS PAIN SO FAR DOWN,

3rd song of my album ~ Stars In A Biscuit.
l know it’s not professional it’s just recorded on my cheap recorder maybe one day I could get the right help with my potential.

I have to admit this song took forever to complete. But finally I think that have perfected this song the best I could, So I personally hope that you guys could feel my inner emotions and story. As for the story, I wanted a feeling of everyday pain by capture a sense of darkness, sadness also have a feeling of anxiety for this character.

Main inspirations on this song were Johnny cash, Hank Williams, Ray LaMontagne, Laura Marling and The Civil Wars and The Great Lake Swimmers.

So I hope you guys like it and it would mean a lot to me that you would subscribe to my YOUTUBE channel and follow me on TWITTER ALSO TUMBLR.

Lyric rec #12 “Jenkins, Drowning” & “ALBUM ART”

Hello,

I just want to inform you guys that I’m changing the chorus of my song, because I was singing with the melody just emphasizing with words then I came up with the new lyrics. I really thought it worked strong and it really connects well with the new lyrics. And also I’m changing the way I sing, I want to sing this song like talking style like the country musicians.

So, here goes.

{CHORUS}

I NEVER SAW THIS POOR FELLA,
FALLING DOWN,
FALLING DOWN SO FAR DOWN,
I NEVER SEEN HIM DROWNING,
HE DROWNS HIS SORROWS DOWN,
OH, JENKINS,
JENKINS,
HOW IS THE WELCOME IN HELL?
THEN HE REPLIED,
PRAYS THE LORD I NEED HELP,

And here is my album art for my songs I hope you do like it!

Lyric rec #12 “Jenkins, Drowning” & “ALBUM ART”

Lyric rec #11 “Jenkins, Drowning”

Within this update it’s the bridge. For this I wanted to talk em speak the bridge like what Johnny Cash does within half of his songs. As for the story on the bridge I want a feel that he passed away but defeating the darkness at the same time I will explain later for the last part of the song. But on this post it’s the bridge.

{BRIDGE}

THE SUN ROSE OVER THE MOORS,
A DUSKY MORNING,
A PREACHER MAN FOUND HIM,
LEFT FOR DEAD,
FREEZING TO DEATH,
BUT AT LEAST HE WASN’T IN PAIN,
NUMB TO HIS FINAL DAZE,

{CHORUS  3}

I NEVER SEEN A MAN,
FALLING DOWN,
FALLING DOWN SO FAR DOWN,
I NEVER SEEN HIM DROWNING,
DROWNING HIS SORROWS DOWN,
I NEVER SEEN HIM FALLING DOWN,

For the last part of this song I wanted a feeling that god helped Jenkins saving him and god listened to his prays placing him in heaven and saving him from hell represents earth!

THE ALMIGHTY LORD FINALLY LISTENED,
HE WELCOMED HIM IN WITH OPEN ARMS,
YOU FOUND YOUR WAY BACK HOME,
OH, JENKINS,
JENKINS SMILED,

Lyric #10 “Jenkins, Drowning”

Hello. I just updated a photo on my sound cloud if you want to see, it’s pretty old but I just adore the effect on it.

trh1

Now for the lyric rec. For the verse two I wanted a feeling of the day after Christmas so it’s boxing day he work up in the morning beating up and I thought that the devil was trying to take his soul because Jenkins is at his weakest state, vulnerable and afraid.

{VERSE 2}

HE WOKE UP,
BLOOD ON HIS LIPS,
RED EYES,
THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS,
IS TRYING TO PROCESS HIS SOUL,

{CHORUS 2}

I NEVER SAW HIM DROWNING,
DROWNING HIS SORROWS DOWN,
I NEVER SEEN HIM FALLING DOWN,
FALLING DOWN SO FAR DOWN,
JENKINS,
OH, JENKINS,
HOW IS THE WELCOME IN HELL?
PRAYS THE LORD I NEED HELP,
